MEC SAYS ALL IS SET FOR THE AUGUST 25 LOCAL GOVERNMENT BY-ELECTIONS IN FIVE WARDS

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has said all is set for the long awaited Local Government by-elections which were postponed in five wards in the country due to funding issue.

MEC Chairperson Maxon Mbendera disclosed this on Tuesday during the launch of the preparatory invents for the by-elections.

Mbendera said the issues concerning funding which led to the rescheduling of the by-elections have now been resolved.

MEC will hold by-elections Luchenza Ward in Luchenza Municipal Council, Zomba Central Ward in Zomba City Council, Msikisi Ward in Mangochi Town Council, Chibanja Ward in Mzuzu City Council and Khwawa Ward in Karonga District Council.
