Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has reshuffled its National Executive Committee (NEC) by appointing former Director of Political Affairs Maxwell Thyolera as new Director of Elections in the party replacing Henry Kamata.

The reshuffle has also seen Jean Sendeza being promoted to the position of Director of Political Affairs where she will be deputized by Henry Kamata.

Speaking to the press after announcing the changes, MCP Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila said changes have been made in preparations to the forth coming general elections.

“The changes should not be seen as promotions or demotions. We always think of ways that will strengthen our party. It is a party full of multi-talented people and we think the party will benefit from these changes as we plan for 2019 elections,” Kabwila said.

In his acceptances speech, Thyolera pledged total support to the Party.
