ANGRY MOB CHOPS OFF THE HEAD OF A SUSPECTED THIEF IN DEDZA

Angry Villagers in Dedza district on Monday took the law into their own hands and chopped off the head of the suspected criminal after discovering that he was behind numerous robberies in the area.

Dedza Police Spokesperson Sergeant Edward Kabango confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local media house in the country [ZBS] and identified the deceased as Rashid Goodwell.

According to kabango, the deceased is believed to have been behind several criminal activities that have been occurring in the community.

As this was not enough, last week the deceased is said to have stolen a goat at Chimwayi village, forcing villagers to start hunting for him.

Having done this, the deceased was caught on Sunday, July 26 at a certain drinking joint by community police who took their way to report him at Linthipe police station.

On their way to the police, angry people from Chikomba village started beating him saying claiming that has been disturbing the security of the area hence needs to be punished.

As this was not enough, the angry villagers went ahead and chopped of the deceased head.

The deceased body is currently being kept at Dedza district hospital while his head is still missing.

Goodwell hails from Malambwe village in the area of Traditional Authority Chauma in the district.
