DONOR PARTNERS INTERVENE ON THE BRUTAL MURDER OF ACB’s DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SERVICE

British High Commissioner to Malawi Michael Nevin has appealed to the Malawi Police Service to act with speed on the brutal murder of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director of Corporate Affairs Isaa NJauju.

Nevin who was accompanied by envoys from United Kingdom, USA, Ireland, Norway and representatives from the European Union said this on Thursday after visiting ACB’s offices in the capital Lilongwe.

“We have faith in Malawi Police. We know that they are currently working on the case and perpetrators will soon be brought to book,” Nevin said.

He further pointed out that the donor community will continue supporting government agencies, ACB in particular.

“The more we invest in fight against corruption, the more the money that will be saved, the more the money that will be retained for Malawi’s developmental projects in Health, Education and Agriculture among others,” he noted.

Nevin furher commended ACB staff for still reporting for work and doing a good job despite going through difficult times.

Njauju was brutally murdered and his body thrown aside presidential villas along presidential drive in the capital city’s Area 44 on July 2 2015.

A post-mortem on Njauju showed that he was shot twice before he was buried near Lilongwe River.
