Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed Godfrey Itaye as new Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Director General replacing Andrew Kumbatira.
Itaye until his appointment was serving as Malawi Postal Corporation as Post Master General.
According to information at hand, Kumbatira has been redeployed to Malawi Postal Corporation to hold his previous position of Post Master General.
Kumbatira’s redeployment comes at MACRA is pressuring government to remove the 10 percent tax placed on the SMS and the internet data, saying this will hamper communication in the country.
