PP YOUTH DIRECTOR FINED MK10,000 FOR TRESPASSING

Blantyre Magistrate Court has fined opposition People’s Party (PP) Director of Youth Chapitapansi Lemani MK10, 000 for trespassing on Police premises.

Leman was arrested last at Blantyre Police Station for allegedly parking his vehicle at place reserved for the station’s officer in-charge and later released on bail.Chapitapansi

After the bail, Leman was ordered to appear before the Southern Region Police Headquarters on Monday where he was told to report to the station on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Leman was fined K10, 000 on the charge of trespassing.

Speaking to FaceofMalawi after the case, Leman said he opted to park his car at Blantyre Police due to security lapse in the country.

“When I returned I found that the police had deflated the tyres of my car and accused me of trespassing,” he said.

On his Part, PP spokesperson Ken Msonda described the arrest as Political.
