THUGS INVADE GERMANY AMBASSADOR’s HOUSE: STEAL MK557 BILLION CASHGATE DOCUMENTS

Hopes of Malawians knowing those people linked to MK557 billion cashgate report that happened during the first reign of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is slowly turning to nightmare as Information indicates that thugs invaded the House of Germany Ambassador and went with the Audit reports documents.

According to a story published by Nation on Sunday, the thugs invaded the house of official who is working on financial management system reforms on July 27 and only stole Cashgate work-related papers.

Confirming the incident, German Ambassador Peter Woeste said the move is politically motivated in order to sabotage the findings on the matter.

“Any criminal attack on one of my colleagues is unacceptable. I have had further meetings with the highest ranking officials on the matter. Of course, we are still waiting for a police report on the matter.

“We consider this work-related. The expert is working on the financial management system reforms. He had contact with the people who did the audit; well, the thieves should be disappointed because we have no information apart from what is available on the Internet,” he said.

When approached for comment, National Police Spokesperson Rhoda Manjolo expressed ignorance on the matter and asked for more time.

The delay by the DPP regime to made public the names linked to the recent audit report has attracted criticism from all corners with others accusing the government of not being serious on combating corruption in the countr.

Germany, through its international cooperation wing, GIZ, is technically and financially supporting the audit, which is being carried out by auditing firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC)—focusing on financial mismanagement in government between 2009 and 2013.
