ILLOVO MALAWI INTRODUCES STANDARDIZED PRICES FOR SUGAR

In a bit to maintain price consistency Illovo Sugar Company has introduced standardized prices for sugar across the country.

Consumers will now be paying K534 269.20 per metric tones and K10 685.38 per bale for 20 packets of one kilogram of brown pre-pack and K547 084 per metric tones and K10 942.68 per bale white pre-pack.

The sugar manufacturer said in a media statement that the uniform sugar prices are effect from August 1.

“Overall prices of sugar have in light of the development been reduced in the outlying distribution centers and increased at the mill warehouses to allow for subsidization of transport cost in the distribution of sugar,” said Illovo in a statement.
