TEENAGE BOY DIES AFTER DRINKING POISONED SWEET BEAR

A 12-year boy is reported dead at Nancholi Township in the commercial capital Blantyre after allegedly drinking sweet bear suspected to have been poisoned.

Blantyre Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Andrew Mayawo confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press and identified the deceased as Luka Mofati.

Mayawo said the deceased together with his four colleagues took the sweet bear at a church function in the area on Sunday.

According to Mayowo, the deceased was pronounced dead few hours after taking in the sweet bear.

Mayawo also disclosed that his four friends developed stomach upsets were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) and now they have been discharged.

Meanwhile Police have not arrested anyone in connection to the incident as investigations are still in progress.
