CANOE CAPSIZES IN NSANJE: 11 PEOPLE MISSING

Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that more than ten people are feared dead after a canoe capsized on the Shire River on the Malawi-Mozambique border in Nsanje this morning.

Sources at the scene of the accident have confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the incident happened just after the canoe started off from the dock in Nsanje.

According to media reports, most of the people who were in the canoe were going to their farms.

So far, five people are known to have survived the accident which happened at a docking station on the Mozambique side.

Meanwhile reports indicate that the Police have now dispatched the rescuing team to the scene.
