DEDZA HEALTH WORKERS PROTEST OVER DRUGS, FOOD SHORTAGE AT THE HOSPITAL

Civil Society Organisations and health workers from Dedza District Hospital on Friday held demonstrations and presented a petition to the District Council over deteriorating health services at the hospital.

The health workers want the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regime to supply the hospital with enough drugs and food to sustain the patients at the hospital.

Speaking in an interview with the press, spokesperson of the workers Aaron Chirwa said the Medical practitioners are traumatized with what is happening at the hospital.

Chirwa said it is disheartening to see patients dying of curable diseases because of lack of medicine.

He revealed that six patients dying per day at the hospital.

Chirwa said the health workers will be compelled to do unspecified action once the government does not adhere to their grievances within the period stated in the petition.
