Police in Kasungu are hunting for unknown people who invaded Kasungu District Hospital’s Children ward and steal a newly born baby in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to information at hand, the baby was being kept in a special room as he was born before time

Kasungu Police spokesperson Edwin Kaunda and health officials confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Kaunda, the incident happened just after the ESCOM power went off and the room was in total darkness and the nurses on duty were busy helping other patients.
Kaunda said the thieves took advantage of the situation and sneaked into the room and went away with the said child.
He said health officials and the mother of the child realized that the baby was missing 10 minutes later while the said thieves have already escaped the scene.
