Angry villagers in Dedza on Monday took the law into their own hands by beating to death a 45 year old man for allegedly being behind the death of two people struck by lightning.
The incident happened in the area of Group Village Headman Kakhome in the district.
The angry villagers believed that the lightning was man-made.
GVH Kokhome confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the privately owned radio and identified the deceased as Mr. Enock.
Kakhome said the suspect admitted to have killed the two people with a lightning.
The chief said Police were called in to rescue the suspect but the irate villagers overpowered them.
Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the incident.
