MORGAN HERITAGE SPEAKS OUT ON MALAWI’s POOR SHOW AT SILVER STADIUM

Well-known Jamaican reggae outfit, Morgan Heritage has come out of its cocoon and defended its disappointing show at Silver Stadium on Sunday December 27, 2015, saying it was an appetizer.

The grouping received heavy criticism from reggae fans in the country for allegedly using CD’s and pre-recorded USB flash drive instead of live performance and other fans even took the issue on social media, accusing the band of duping them.

In a statement released on Monday made available to FaceofMalawi, Mojo Morgan admitted to have given Malawians not the required performance.

“Everyone that was there showed us nothing but love even though they did not get the full band. We could’ve chosen to postpone the show but when speaking with Born African Productions, we expressed our love and desire to still come to Malawi to do something from our hearts for the people BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

“Many times in the past promoters could not bring the full band and this time we agreed that a few of the members of the group would come to Malawi to at least let the people see us and receive an appetizer. It was important for us not to be like previous attempts where negations didn’t materialize,” said Mojo.

He added: “So we want to take this time to assure all Malawians that at our show in 2016 the full band will be there with better production BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY and as compensation we will guarantee that the ticket price will be half of what everyone paid last night.”

Patrons to the show had to pay K10,000 for an advance ticket and K15,000 on the door while on VIP paid K25,000.

Morgan Heritage is a reggae band formed in 1994 by five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan. The group comprises of Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan and Memmalatel.
