ONE OF THE FIVE ABANDONED CHILDREN IN MCHINJI DIES

One of the five children abandoned by their mother in Mchinji has died at Home of Hope Orphanage in Mchinji.

The four Year old, Enock Thauzeni who was crippled was taken to the orphanage after he, together with other four children were abandoned by their mother Stella Banda popularly known as Dr Patuma a witchdoctor.

Patuma abandoned her five children between the ages of 4 to 14, living them destitute and her whereabout are not yet known.

She left the kids who were born from different fathers with their step father, a Zambian Kesha Sakala who also deserted the kids and went back to his country.

According to Petro Thauzeni, the father of the two youngest kids, the four year died after suffering from unknown illness.

Thauzeni who, Patuma divorced in June this year, and now stays in Salima told Malawi News Agency (MANA) that he came back to Mchinji after he heard on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation’s (MBC)Nkhani za m’maboma that the kids were abandoned by their mother.

“Patuma and I had two kids, she divorced me in June and married a Zambian man and the Police Victim Unit advised us that the children should stay with their mother,” he said.

When Thauzeni came to Mchinji he was informed that the children were sent at the orphanage by the Social Welfare Department.

“I am sad that my child has died because he stayed for a long time without proper care,” he said, adding that he is arranging go get his other child and his step children from the orphanage.

Meanwhile reports say ‘Dr. Patuma’ was spotted at a bar in Chipata Zambia where she is doing prostitution.

A Kabaza cyclist spotted her in Zambia and told neighbours that Patuma vowed that she won’t be returning home soon.mana
