ARMED THUGS INVADE MONKEY BAY TOTAL FILLING STATION: MK4 MILLION CASH STOLEN

Unidentified robbers on Monday night stormed Total Filling Station in Monkey Bay, Mangochi where they stole cash amounting to K3, 876, 050 from the cash chest.

Mangochi Police Public Relations Officer Rodrick Maida confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to published reports, the four unidentified criminals visited the fuel station on Monday where they overpowered two watchmen on duty before tying them on both hands and legs to break into the shop.

“During the night of January 25 the criminals stormed the facility before breaking into the shop to reach for two cash chests which contained money amounting to K3, 876.050.00,” Maida said.

Maida said the police have since launched a hunt for the criminals who would answer an offence of robbery with violence contrary to section 283 (1) of the penal, once they were brought to book.
