HUMAN RIGHT ACTIVIST QUESTIONS MUTHARIKA’s HEATH AFTER FALLING AT KAMUZU PALACE

As debate continues on President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s falling picture on the social media, Human Right Activist has sided with those people questioning the health condition, saying his health condition matters to Malawian.

According to media reports, Mutharika tripped and fell on Saturday outside Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe while on tree planting exercise.

The picture shows Mutharika being help by his aide from the ground as he was not able to walk up alone.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Billy Mayaya said Mutharika’s health status is of national concern since is the leader.

“I beg to differ with those who are saying we shouldn’t be concerned with President Mutharika’s fall. We should all be concerned with the health of our leaders especially those who are advanced in age,” wrote Mayaya.

When pressed for comment, Presidential Press Officer Gerald Viola said Mutharika is well and Malawians should not worry.

“I was not there when it happened as I always have weekend classes but I didn’t hear anything to that effect. I’m sure he just slipped and fell because the grounds are wet with the rains. People should not worry, His Excellency is not sick. He is fit and well,” said Viola.

Meanwhile Mutharika is yet to appear in public since the incident.
