Christ of Nations senior prophet Foster Mbale has trashed rumours that spread on the social media like hotcakes on Saturday that he has turned in a snake.
The news that Mbale had turned into a snake shocked many Malawians and church followers in Area 25 in the capital Lilongwe who retaliated by being violent.
Police were called in to cool down the flying tempers of the church members who resorted into setting a blaze the church and other properties.
Speaking to the press Saturday afternoon, Mbale denied the claims, saying it was cooked up rumour by some people who don’t wish him well.
Mbale said he was surprised to receive a call earlier that morning from church members asking him if its really true that he was turned into a snake.
“I was on a sitting room, watching Emmanuel TV whilst waiting for breakfast when I received the phone call and i said, me, turning into a snake?,” he said.
Meanwhile Police have arrested three people in connection with the fracas that left some people injured.
