Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that opposition People’s Party (PP) has finally fired its suspended controversial provincial chair for the North Christopher Mzomera Ngwira from the Party over the fracas that happened in Mzuzu on Sunday.

Mzomera Ngwira is being accused of organizing thugs to disrupt the meeting organized by PP’s Interim leader Uladi Mussa.

PP Secretary General Ibrahim Matola has confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press, saying Ngwira is no longer the Party member.

When approached for comment, Ngwira said he is hearing the news from the media, saying he will comment on the matter when he receives official communication from Matola.

Mzomera Ngwira was earlier suspended from the Party for advocating for the appointment of former Vice President Khumbo Kachali as the Party’s President replacing Dr. Joyce Banda who is currently in self-imposed exile.
