Albino boy abducted in Machinga, mother sustain injuries

Unidentified people have abducted a Nine year old boy with albinism Friday night at Mpakati Village, Traditional Authority Chikweo in Machinga where the boy’s mother sustained injuries in the process of rescuing the boy who is still missing.

Police in Machinga have confirmed the incident saying two unidentified men broke into Edna Cedrick, 22 and abducted the boy leaving behind her mother who screamed for help though too late to rescue the boy.

Cedrick sustained an injury on her eye as the two men abducted the boy, according to Police Investigator, Inspector Isaac Ndala

The incident happened when the boy’s father left home for fishing two days earlier, according to the Investigator whose team is currently looking for the suspects and is investing the issue further.

In 2015 Police in Machinga arrested Collin Zulu from Dedza for abducting his biological son aged six.

He connived with three other men to abduct the boy but communities at Nyambi area in the district became suspicious and apprehended them few kilometers before crossing over into Mozambique.

Zulu ‘s case is still in court as the boy was handed to his mother who said could not understand his husband’s lust for cash.

In January this year, Machinga police foiled the abduction of a nine year old girl after arresting a 24 year old Mandela Paipi who offered K500, 000 to the girl’s brother to facilitate the abduction at Nachuma village in Traditional Authority Nkoola in the district.

The brother tipped his mother about Paipi’s intention and the mother in turn tipped members of community policing who apprehended Paipi and later handed him to police at Ntaja.

In 2915 a two year old boy with albinism was abducted and is still missing at Sub Traditional Authority Mchinguza area in Machinga.mana
