BREAKING NEWS: KALIATI THROWN OUT OF PARLIAMENT

Speaker of Parliament Richard Msowoya has thrown out of Parliament Minister of Gender Patricia Kaliati for allegedly not taking orders of Parliament.

Kaliti’s fate follows a disagreement between government benches and the opposition MPs in the house over the proposed amendment on the Independence of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The opposition members want the House to resolve that an amendment bill to amend Section 5(1) of The Corrupt Practices Act be drafted forthwith and presented for consideration in the house.

The motion further states that the director of the graft busting body should be reporting and answerable to Parliament through the Public Appointments Committee and not the appointing authority as it is the case now.

While the speaker was still consulting the clerk on time flame for bill to be amended, Kaliati was heard on the ground calling the name of the speaker at the clerk of Parliament.

Msowoya warned Kaliati to stop that or be expelled from Parliament using standing order 105 but Kaliati gave the warning a deaf ear.

In retaliation, the speaker invoked Parliamentary standing order 105.

The suspension means Kaliati will be back in Parliament tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile Msowoya has warned members to stop making unnecessary remarks to destabilize debate in the house.
