FIRE RAZES DOWN TEA TRUCK IN DEDZA

Fire has razes down truck belonging to an Asian businessman in Dedza destroying packets of My Gold Tea worth over K42 million.

Dedza Police Assistant spokesperson Cassim Manda confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the privately owned radio.

Manda said the truck, registration number BQ492 was en route to Lilongwe from Blantyre to deliver tea.

“Upon reaching Lithipe 1 one of its tyres burst, causing it to catch fire,” said Manda.

He said the fire has also burnt money amounting to MK82, 000 which was in the vehicle.

The truck belongs to Nasser Ahammad of Zoona Trading Company.

Meanwhile the driver of the truck escaped unhurt.
