MCP MP KICKED OUT OF PARLIAMENT FOR ‘INDISCIPLINE’

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Esther Mcheka Chilenje has kicked out of the August House Malawi Congress Party (MCP) MP for Mchinji West for indiscipline conduct.

The development comes barely a week after Minister Gender Patricia kaliati was also kicked out of the August House for indiscipline conduct.

The whole issue started when Mchinji West MP identified as Billy Kanjila Banda brought back on the table the issue raise by Rumphi East MP Kamlepo Kalua that DPP MPs have been promised huge sums of money for campaign once the allocation to the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) is passed.

Kanjila Banda alleged that each DPP MP has been promised MK10 to MK15 million with the Leader of the House Francis Kasaila having the lion’s share of MK50 million.

The issue turns personal when the Deputy Speaker was trying to gag him from making allegations which he has no proof.

The MP said he has the evidence but since he has been blocked to give the details to the matter he will not bring evidence.

Kanjila Banda also accused the Deputy Speaker of favouring the DPP MPs in the house, attracting ululations from opposition MPs.

The remarks angered the Deputy Speaker, saying the house slowly plotting against her and she even threatens to expose some members in the house.

The threat did not yield anything as the MP kept on reacting harshly on the Deputy Speaker who was left with no option but to kick him out by invoking standing order 105.
