TWO ARRESTED FOR HOUSE BREAKING

Police in Lilongwe are keeping in custody two people for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing assorted items worth undisclosed amount of kwacha and K10, 000 cash.

Lilongwe Police Station Spokesperson, Inspector Kingsley Dandaula has identified the suspects as Geoffrey Nkhonjera (25) from Musolo village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Chikulamayembe in Rumphi district and Ali Kamba (31) from Mtawanga village, TA Tambala in Dedza district.

Dandaula said the two broke into a house belonging to a Mr Rodgers Chilemba at Kaphiri location along the Lilongwe-Dedza M1 Road while the owner was away to church on the morning of Sunday, March 19 2016.

He said among the stolen items the robbers went away with two Laptop computers, two projectors, two cameras, a mobile phone, CD changer, Sanyo radio, three school bags.

According to Dandaula police have since recovered all the stolen items except one school bag.

Meanwhile the suspects have been charged with house breaking/theft contrary to section 309 of the penal code.
