Police are keeping a 36 year-old man in custody for allegedly impregnating his biological daughter in Lilongwe.
Lilongwe Police Station Public Relations Officer Inspector Kingsley Dandaula said it is alleged that the suspect Eston Komesi Chisale started having sex with his 17 year old daughter between December 2015 and February 2016 at Area 36 in Lilongwe.
“He persuaded the daughter that they would become rich if she could have sex with him. The daughter succumbed to her father’s demand and got pregnant in the process.
“Her mother got suspicious of her and after interrogation the daughter revealed that she had been having sex with her father who promised her riches,” said Dandaula.
Her mother, Ida M’dala Chisale who has been married to the suspect for 18 years reported the matter to the police and the girl was referred to the Kamuzu Central Hospital for medical examinations.
Meanwhile the suspect is in Police custody and is expected to appear in court to answer charges of incest contrary to section 157 of the penal code.
Chisale hails from Chin’gombe village in the area of Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre.
