Police in Zomba have arrested a 15-year-old girl for dumping her baby.
Zomba Police spokesperson, Patricia Spuliano, confirmed the development in an interview.
She said the girl [name withheld] comes from Mbangombe Village, Traditional Authority
Malemia in Nsanje.
“The suspect will face the charge of baby dumping,” said Spuliano.
She said the girl’s neighbour mobilised neighbours to trace the cries of a baby in a maize garden and later started looking for the mother as some knew who it was.
They found her at a drinking joint called Tholo.
