NDIRANDE RESIDENTS FIGHT OVER FREE MOSQUITO NETS: POLICE FIRES TEARGAS

Free distribution of mosquito nets by Blantyre City Council (BCC) which is currently underway in most part of the City has been temporally suspended in Ndirande Township following a fracas that erupted among residence receiving the mosquito nets.

According to the source who rushed to the scene said, the fracas started when rumours spread that the mosquito nets were not enough for all people present at the school.

He said the news forced the crowd to start scrambling for a place in the front, forcing the police to use teargas to ease the tension.
