Bones of stolen albino girl in Kasungu recovered

Police in Kasungu have recovered the bones suspected to be of the 1 year, 11 months albino girl who was first reported missing on Monday, April 4, 2016 after being stolen from house whilst sleeping with her mother.

Police in Kasungu have confirmed of the development in a statement posted on Malawi Police Service (MPS) Facebook page seen by FaceofMalawi reporter.

“On Wednesday, April 13, 2016 the skull, teeth, clothes and napkin that belonged to the missing girl were found in the hills of Balanta which is in Traditional Authority Kapichira in Kasungu district,” reads the statement in part.

Police arrested the father of the murdered child identified as White Chilumpha, 26 years and his friend James Kanjira, 19 years for suspecting them to be connected to the murder of the deceased.

As the inquiries were in progress the police yesterday on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 arrested three other suspects identified as 1. Laston Phiri, 24 years 2. Deus Kabango, 21 years 3. Alfred Mwale, 18 years who after being enquired from revealed to have committed the act.

The suspects later revealed the place where they had burried the bones they removed from the murdered girl. The police escorted the suspects to the place where they recovered the bones in question.

Meanwhile, the bones have been taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital for medical examinations. The five suspects have been charged with Murder and will appear before court soon.
