Dedza mob justice updates: Over 20 people arrested

Over 20 people are in Police custody in Dedza for allegedly beating to death a suspected murderer who was being at Kabwaza police unit in the district.

It is said that on March 29, 2016 angry villagers invaded Kabwazi Police unit at around 5am and took out a suspected murderer identified as Limic Mbiri Thomas who was beaten to death.

The chaos also saw part of the police unit being demolished by irate villagers who were unmoved by the police officers.

After investigating the matter, police officer on Thursday last week invaded Kanolo Village where they arrested more than 20 people in connection to the incident.

Central region police spokesperson Ramsey Mushani confirmed of the development refused to disclose the exact number of the suspects arrested.
He said investigations are still in progress on the matter.
