Gwaladi’s rape case to resume on May 6

Hearing of a rape case involving Malawi’s well-known musician Joe Gwaladi is expected to resume on May 6 2016 at Phalombe Magistrate Court.

Gwaladi is being accused of raping a 14 year-old girl and was arrested in May last year, but he was granted bail.

The case failed to resume on January 19 2016 due to the busy schedule of first grade magistrate Damson Banda.

Phalombe Police Spokesperson Augustus Nkhwazi confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Gwaladi denied defilement charges leveled against him when he appeared in court in June last year.
