PP’s 2014 Presidential aspirant Caesar Fatch resigns

As leadership wrangles continue in former ruling People’s Party (PP), the Party has been hit on the back again following the resignation of Caesar Fatch.

Fatch attempted to challenge former President Dr. Joyce Banda in the party’s convention ahead of the 2014 tripartite elections but he withdrew from the race at the 11th hour.

According to published reports by one of the local daily papers in the country, Fatch has resigned from the Party over the continued infighting and unwillingness to resolve the differences rocking the Party.

Fatch also disclosed his resignation from frontline politics, saying he wants to concentrate on personal business.

PP spokesperson Ken Msonda confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Since Banda left the country to self-imposed exile, the Party has seen massive exodus of its top members with the famous one being the departure of Sosten Gwengwe.

Gwengwe was appointed as Banda’s 2014 Presidential running mate, dumping Khumbo Kachale who later endorsed President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as a candidate that Malawians should vote for.
