Mutharika to open budget meeting of parliament on Friday

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will on Friday, May 20, 2016 open the 2016/2017 budget meeting of Parliament in Lilongwe.

This has been disclosed in a press statement released on Wednesday from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) signed by Mgeme Kalirani.

According to the statement, Mutharika is expected to arrive at Parliament Building at about 9:30 in the morning.

During the meeting, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Goodall Gondwe is expected to table the 2016/17 national budget.

Gondwe is also expected to explain to the house how the 2015/16 budget has performed.

Meanwhile expectations are high among Malawians ahead of the budgetary session of Parliament.
