Cashgate updates: Katengeza cries, wishes she was dead

There was drama at Lilongwe High Court after the sentencing of Angela Katengeza as she cried uncontrollably.

Judge Fiona Mwale sentenced Katengeza to five years imprisonment with hard labour for allegedly plundering money amounting to K105 million ($146 444).

After the sentencing, Katengeza broke down and cried out.

“Just kill me, I don’t want to be alive anymore. Just finish me! Cried Katengeza.

Katengeza was initially charged alongside former tourism officer in the Ministry of Tourism Leonard Kalonga but he was dropped from the case after he pleaded guilty to all cashgate related charges.
