Elephant claims life in Salima

An elephant trampled a 55-year-old man to death near Thuma Forest Reserve in Salima district, police have said.

Salima Police Public Relations Officer Gift Chitowe told Malawi News Agency (Mana) in an interview that the incident occurred at around 5p.m. on Saturday when the deceased, Enuya Enali was harvesting maize in his field.

The deceased hailed from Mkwatire Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kambwiri in the district.mana
