Goodall to table 2016/17 national budget today

Minister of Finance and Economic Development Goodall Gondwe is this afternoon expected to table the 2016/17 national budget in the National Assembly.

Leader of government in Parliament, Dr. George Chaponda who is also Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development confirmed of the development in an interview with FaceofMalawi.

Chaponda said in the morning parliament will continue deliberating on the State of the Nation Address and in the afternoon it’s when Minister Finance will present the budget.

Before presenting the budget, Gondwe is expected to give details of how the previous budget has performed.

MPs will start debating on the budget statement on Monday next week starting with financial spokesperson from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and opposition People’s Party (PP).
