Makhuwila Police Unit damaged by angry mob, murder suspect killed

Irate villagers in Chikwawa on Wednesday took the law into their own hands by invading Makhuwila Police Unit and took out murder suspect before beating him to death.

Chikwawa police spokesperson has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Police, irate villagers stormed the Police unit demanding the immediate release of a man suspected to have murdered a teenager in the district but the Police resisted.

The Villagers then gunned up attacking the Police Unit in the process overpowering the Police officers on duty and took out the suspected murderer.

Irate villagers then administered mob justice on the suspected murdered who died on the spot.

It took the intervention of Police from Chikwawa to restore peace at the Police Unit.

Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
