Guard foils robbery attack in Nkhata-Bay

Armed robbers on Monday failed to steal from Nkhata-Bay Puma filling station after the guard at the premise tipped the police of the incident.

It is said that the armed thugs tied the guards at the filling station before entering the office through the roof.

Nkhata-Bay police spokesperson Igneous Esau confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According Esau, as armed robbers were busy trying to cut the cash chest another guard reappeared and was attacked but he managed to escape.

“With the escaping of the other watchman, the robbers sensed danger and left the scene leaving behind craw-bars, cutters, panga knives, snapers, hacksaw and screwdriver,” said Esau.

Meanwhile Police have launched a man-hunt for unknown armed robbers.
