Airtel calls for support for MK10 million Trace Music winner Ruth Kulaisi

Airtel Malawi has called on Malawians to rally behind 2016 Malawi representative in the Airtel Trace Music Star Pan-African contest, Ruth Kulaisi-Chikoleka to get the ultimate prize in the competition.

Speaking through their Marketing Brand and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika during a send off which the mobile operator organized for the Trace Music local winner, Airtel said with all the potential and ability that Ruth has, all she needs now is support from Malawians.

“Your vocal skills, quality, confidence and self composure and superior stage performance that have helped you win the K10 million grand prize in Malawi are what will make you outsmart the rest of the contestants on the Pan-African stage and make you a multi-millionaire.

“But realizing that this is almost a team game which cannot just rely on you alone, am standing here with a humble heart, asking all Malawians to give you all the support that you need by voting as many times as they can. If you emerge winner the pride will be shared amongst us all,” said Kachinjika.

Kachinjika also noted that it has been heart-warming to see how through the Airtel Trace Music Star initiative young talented Malawians have managed to unleash their full potential and showcase their talent.

Kulaisi-Chikoleka on her part promised to give it her best shot on the continental stage where she will be up against fellow contestants from nine countries from Africa.

“I have total belief in myself and my ability, what I need now is the support from you my countrymen which will give me the courage to successfully get through this. I’m really excited. It is like am going on a music marathon and looking forward to the challenge. It is time to show the world that Malawians can also sing,” said Kulaisi-Chikoleka.

In a typical display of good camaraderie, last year’s flag carrier Sam Mjura who finished in the top six, has also offered his support to Kulaisi-Chikoleka and has urged her to show the required dedication so that she emerges tops.

“Just like any other venture, this competition too has got its own strict demands. Am glad am standing here and offering my support to Ruth from a point of experience and I’m sure she will carefully listen to the advice from her mentors there and show the required discipline in her work ethic,” said Mjura.

Kulaisi-Chikoleka leaves the country on Monday, June 6, for the continental showdown in Lagos- Nigeria, where if successful she stands to win a lucrative record deal with the mentorship of international star Keri Hilson.
