Suspected thief beaten to death by angry mob in Bangwe

A suspected thief was on Tuesday beaten to death by angry mob in Bangwe Township, in the commercial capital Blantyre.

The deceased is said to have been among a gang of thieves that have been causing havoc in the Township by stealing.

Limbe Police deputy spokesperson Pedizisai Zembeneko confirmed of the development in an interview with the press but could not disclose the identity of the suspected thief.

Zembeneko said the body of the deceased is currently at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) for postmortem.

Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the incident.
