Muluzi salutes Judge Madise for slapping an albino killer with life sentence

Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi has hailed Mzuzu based high court Judge Dingiswayo Madise for imposing a life imprisonment sentence on Sam Kaumba who attempted to murder a boy with albinism.

Judge Madise slapped a life sentence to Kaumba,33 on Wednesday this week at the High Court in Mzuzu attracting applause from various sector.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Muluzi said the life sentence handed to the convict will serve as a lesson to others.

Muluzi also urged other Judges in the country to emulate the example set by Judge Madise.

Concurring with Muluzi, Economic Association of Malawi (ECAMA) President Henry Kachaje said Judge Madise is the pace for Justice in Malawi.

“Is it just me who is noticing that the Mzuzu High Court is where our hope for justice resides? I have been following how the sole Mzuzu-based High Court Judge, Dingiswayo Madise has been setting the pace for justice in this country and I must say I am confident we have a “partner in justice” at the Mzuzu High Court.

“Bravo Your Worship, Judge Dingiswayo Madise. How I wish the cashgate cases were being tried at Mzuzu High Court,” wrote Kachaje.

Judge Madise also made headlines when he slapped 14-year jail sentence to first gay couple in the country during the reign of late Bingu wa Mutharika.
