News update: Malawian twin born in broken down bus in Benoni dies

Information reaching faceofMalawi indicates that one of of the twins who were born in a bus in Benoni this week has died.

According to information at hand, the child died at 9pm on Thursday at the Tambo Memorial Hospital.

The woman identified as Mercy Ndlovu‚ 21‚ was assisted by paramedics to give birth to twins on Wednesday, according to Timeslive of South Africa.

Ndlovu‚ who was seven months pregnant‚ was with her fellow countrymen when a bus they were travelling with experienced mechanical on broke down on the Tom Jones offramp in the Ekurhuleni city.

Paramedics were called to the scene and helped deliver the babies‚ whom they nicknamed “Tom and Jones”.

Gauteng MEC of Social Development Nandi Mayathula-Khoza has called a media briefing in Benoni to brief journalists on how her department will help the family of the deceased.
