Police confiscates 79 bags of Chamba in Salima

Police in the lakeshore district of Salima have confiscated 79 bags of Indian hemp each weighing about 35 kilogrammes.

The total weight of the confiscated hemp is 2,765 kilogrammes.

According to Salima Police publicist Gift Chitowe the drugs were compounded in a Nissan Caravan minibus registration MJ 2647.

The consignment was being ferried from Nkhotakota to Blantyre.

Meanwhile the police are man-hunting the driver of the minibus who is currently at large.
