Reshuffle in MCP: Jumbe stripped off Agriculture chairmanship in Parliament

Bad blood between Salima Central Member of Parliament Felix Jumbe and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera continue to flow with the recent report being firing of Jumbe from his position as chair of Parliamentary committee on Agriculture.

The development comes barely a week after media reports indicated that MCP official blocked Jumbe and the Party’s Spokesperson from attending Chakwera’s rally in Salima.

According to information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that, Jumbe has been reduced to a mere member of the Defence committee of Parliament.

Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya made the announcement on Friday, saying the Party wrote him of the changes.

When approached for comment, Jumbe expressed shock over the changes, saying he is consulting his lawyer.
