Kabwila’s vehicle torched down by DPP thugs

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Spokesperson Jessie Kabwila has accused the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of hiring thugs to torch down her vehicle.

Kabwila’s vehicle Toyata fortuner was brunt Wednesday evening by unknown at Lilongwe Golf Club while she was attending a meeting.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Kabwila accused the DPP of being hand the attack.

“What makes this more suspicious is that days ago I was warned that the police are looking for me in connection with the demonstrations in Zomba.

“I knew that when you are a politician speaking for Malawi Congress Party in a DPP era the life is under threat every day,” Kabwila told Zodiak Broadcasting Station.

She added “I would have been killed. Even if you come and see the car it is definitely an attack to kill. It was not even about me surviving, it was an assassination attempt, clear.”

Kabwila said the attack is aimed silencing her for speaking for the poor people in the village regarding the just passed Customary Land Bill which will see Malawians paying for their own land inherited from their ancestors.

She said the bill is aimed at victimizing Malawians.

Meanwhile Police says they are investigating the matter.
