Woman kills biological child to self-guard marriage

A 27-year Eluby Luhanga is in Police custody at Mzuzu for allegedly killing her biological child to safe-guard her marriage.

Police in Mzuzu have confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.

According to information sourced by this publication, the suspect got married to her husband, Masugzo Nyambose, in 2015 while six months old pregnant.
She claimed Nyambose was responsible.

After the birth of the child eight months ago, the husband started claiming that he was not the father the child named Jimmy.

It is said that on July 17, 2016 the suspect gave poison.

“So to bring peace and of course to sustain the marriage,I just decided to eliminate the life of my son.” Suspect stated in her caution statement.

The Child was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ekwendeni mission hospital he was rushed for medical treatment.

Postmortem results conducted at the hospital reveled that death was due to poisoning.

Luhanga hails from Simeon Nyambose village in traditional authority Mtwalo in Mzimba district.
