Nsanje hyena denied bail

Nsanje Magistrate Court has denied bail Eric Aniva who was arrested for allegedly sleeping with 104 young girls and women while HIV positive.

Two weeks ago, Aniva made headlines on the social media both locally and internationally for publicly disclosing that he is a ‘hyena’ – a man paid to have sex with young girls as a form of ritual cleansing.

Aniva said he is hired by the community to cleanse the young girls as they approach puberty disregarding their mental and physical health, and their education.

The news did not please President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who immediately ordered for his arrest and an investigation to the malpractice.

But information sourced by this publication indicates that the Nsanje Magistrate court has denied granting the suspect bail.

Aniva is currently being remanded at Nsanje Police station waiting to appear before the court on August 5, 2016.
