Police in Mulanje have arrested a carjacker for allegedly stealing a vehicle from a woman at Game Complex on August 9 2016.
The suspect has been identified as Felix Banda, 28 from Mphula Village Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu who stole a vehicle Nissan Tiida Latio Reg. No BU 2374, belonging to Mrs Beatrice Kalungulu.
According to information at hand, Banda robbed the vehicle from the owner at Game Complex and removed the registration number and replaced it with BS 9292 driving it to Mulanje.
On Friday, the suspect took the vehicle to a certain garage to have the colour changed promising to collect it on Saturday.
“After leaving, owner of the garage became suspicious & reported to Muloza Police leading to the arrest of the suspect,” reads the Police report.
Meanwhile Banda will appear in court soon.
