Three people arrested for killing businessman in Dowa

Police in Dowa are keeping in custody three men in connection with the murder of a business person in the district.

Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Richard Kaponda confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the pressand identified the suspects as Jamu Sautso,Yotamu Mkandawire and Feston Banda.

According to Kaponda, the suspects broke into the house of the businessman and stole money amounting to K10-million and in the process murdered the businessperson.

Kaponda identified the businessman as Ganizani Salela who had a shop at Njati Trading Centre.

He said the suspects hacked to death the deceased using panga knife.

The suspects will appear in to answer charges of robbery contrary to section 301 sub section 2 of penal code and murder contrary to section 209 of penal code.
