Msonda denies pocketing MK3. 5 million from Mutharika to dump PP

Former People’s Party (PP) spokesperson Ken Msonda has denied pocketing money amounting to MK3.5 million from President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to dump the Party and join the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (PP), saying the rumours are baseless.

Msonda resigned from PP on Wednesday, saying he wants to take sabbatical leave and reflect on his spiritual life.

But reports have been all over that Msonda has pocked MK3.5 million to fight Kamlepo Kalua in the forthcoming general election.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Msonda trashed the claims.

“Some of this stupidity and nonsense has to stop forthwith; freedoms and rights is not cocking unfounded allegations to dent other peoples integrity and reputation for personal monetory gains.

“One answering to the call “GERALD KAMPANIKIZA” a former PP secret service man posted on his facebook that DPP through Hon Mchacha offered me Mk3.5m to join the party and i refused the offer. He further stated that now the state president prof apm dangled a K12m offer which i was tempted and finally accepted (recieved),” said Msonda.

He added: “His allegations have dented my Christian and political stand in society; my integrity and reputation is at stake.

Msonda further said he is consulting his to commence legal action against Kampanikiza.

“Mr. Gerald Kampanikiza prepare your evidence am coming for you;
I AM AT MY BEST WHEN THREATENED; THIS STUPIDITY & NONSENSE HAS TO STOP FORTHWITH,” said Msonda.

Meanwhile PP founder Dr. Joyce Banda has accepted Msonda’s resignation.
