Cashgate thief Trizza Namathanga Senzani released from jail

First cashgate convict Trizza Namathanga Senzani has been released from prison today after serving a third of her three year nine months sentence due to good conduct while in jail.

Senzani, former Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism was sentenced to nine months for a charge of theft and three years for money laundering on October 6 2014 and the sentences were supposed to run concurrently.

according to an eyewitness who rushed to Maula Prison this morning told this publication that, Namanthanga was set free at around 10:30 am.

The eyewitness said an ambulance left Maula Prison carrying Namanthanga and dropped her at City centre in the capital Lilongwe.

Last week, Commissioner for prisons responsible for operations Masauko Wisikoti told the press that Namanthanga will be released due to good behaviour demonstrated by her while in prison.

Senzani was supposed to finish her sentence on October 6, 2017 after she was jailed on October 6, 2014.
